Welcome to Going to School!

It is our pleasure to be able to share with you our story. Going to School is a dream come true; a dream that magical, inspiring stories can change the way children see their lives and opportunities. Today, we are an organization that makes lots of stories, but once upon a time, our journey began with one book and one story…

Going to School in Indiais a children’s book that celebrates what school can be, from going to school in a tent in a mud desert to going to school in the dark with solar lanterns, Going to School’s message is that “school can be fun”.
When children across India saw our stories through mini books that were given to Government schools free of cost, they said, “I had no idea school could be fun.” And we smiled, and decided it was time to make movies.
Our Going to School movie series was such a success that Pogo and National Geographic aired the series free of cost, and as a result over 65 million children tuned into Going to School…

And so we created again: this time we celebrated what it would mean for girls to stay in school.
Girl Stars is a multi-media project that creates icons out of everyday women and girls who have changed their lives by completing their education. Girl Stars are extraordinary tales of ordinary girls: from Anita the Beekeeper to Kiran the Junkyard Dealer, 15 Girl Stars, 15 movies, books and radio series continue to reach children across India.

Next, is perhaps our most challenging project to date:Be! an Entrepreneuris a multi-media project to inspire millions of young people from underprivileged backgrounds to become entrepreneurs, to create businesses that solve the social economic and environmental problems they face in their lives. Be! inspires young people to create businesses for social change.
